Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 July 2026

The short version: QuestDay works fully offline, with no account, by default. Nothing leaves your device unless you choose to sign in. Signing in is optional and only shares what's needed for online backup and your Team leaderboard.

What we store, and where

Playing offline (the default): your quests, progress, XP, streaks, badges and settings are saved only on your phone, using your device's local storage. This information is never sent to us or to anyone else. If you delete the app, this data is removed with it.

If you choose to sign in to QuestDay Online (entirely optional, found in Settings): we collect your email address, your hero name, the quests you create (their titles, zones and progress), and your XP, level, streak and earned badges, so this information can be backed up and synced across devices. This is stored on our backend database provider (Supabase), secured so that only your own account can read or change it, unless you deliberately add a Team connection (see below).

Accounts are optional

You never need an account to play QuestDay — the free local game works completely offline, forever. If you choose to sign in for backup and the real Team leaderboard, you'll create an account with an email address and password.

Team / friend connections

Nothing about your hero is visible to anyone else until you deliberately connect with them — either by sharing your invite code or entering one someone shared with you. Once you're connected, that person can see your hero name, weekly XP, streak and earned badges, and you can see theirs. We ask you to confirm this explicitly, in the app, before either side is added. You can remove a connection yourself anytime — long-press it on the Team tab — which revokes it for both sides.

No tracking or analytics

We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking. We don't profile you and we don't track you across other apps or websites. Our backend database provider (Supabase) stores the account data described above so the app can function — it is not an analytics or advertising service, and we don't share your data with it for any other purpose.

Sharing a quest card

If you choose to share your daily "quest card", QuestDay creates an image and hands it to your phone's own share menu. You decide where it goes - we don't upload or keep a copy.

Purchases

QuestDay may offer an optional paid upgrade, "QuestDay Pro". When available, all payments are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own privacy policies. We never see or store your payment details.

Reminders

If you turn on daily reminders, they are scheduled locally on your device. No reminder data is sent to us.

Data retention and deletion

Local data can be wiped anytime from Settings → Danger Zone. If you've signed in to QuestDay Online and want your account and its data deleted, email us (below) and we'll delete it — we don't yet have a one-tap in-app option for this, so we handle deletion requests directly.

Children

Playing offline, with no account, collects no personal data and is suitable for players of all ages. QuestDay Online accounts are intended for people old enough to consent to creating an account under the law where they live (typically 13 or older). We don't currently offer a way for a parent or guardian to create or manage an account on a child's behalf — that's planned as a separate future feature with its own consent process, and this policy will be updated, with appropriate safeguards in place, before it ships.

Future online features

Further online features — such as one player sending or assigning a quest to another ("Quest Pacts") — are not active in this version of the app. If we introduce them in future, they will require your consent and an updated version of this policy before any further data is shared.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
